We are looking for a sales assistant for our Castlemaine store, Little General Kids

This position is for 2 x days a week on Wednesday and Thursday, with flexibility for weekend work and other days when required. The right person will have a proven track record in retail and required to work 9.45-5.15 on both Wednesdays and Thursdays. Start date for this role is flexible - required by mid- End Jan 2024, but could begin in December to help with the busy Christmas period. 

We are a small team of mothers who are looking for a local person who loves retail and most importantly, kids!

Job responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day to day running of the store, including opening and closing, sales, inventory movements, in-store visual merchandising and promotions, etc
  • Providing excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers, and responding to all customer enquiries

Your Skills

  • Must have min 3 years retail experience ideally in fashion/kids/toy shop environment
  • Good knowledge of retail, store management, visual merchandising, operations and more importantly excellent customer experience.
  • A passion to help customers, to build relationships within our wonderful Castlemaine community and to ensure everyone has a positive in store experience
  • Ability to work independently
  • Interest and knowledge of children’s products, toys and clothing advantageous
  • Visual merchandising experience preferred but not essential
  • Vend/Lightspeed POS experience preferred but not essential
  • A passion for children and children’s retail
